FAQ’s

Are you still registering and accepting new patients?

No – we are no longer registering new NHS patients.

Patients interested in treatments independently of the NHS fee system are welcome to phone reception to discuss options

What is private dentistry?

Some services particularly cosmetic treatments aren’t available on the NHS. These include tooth whitening, adult orthodontics and implants. Being treated on a private basis will also give your dentist more time on each type of treatment selected and allow us to use a wider selection materials and tools.

You can find more information in OUR SERVICES.

Do you have a Dental Plan?

Yes. We have 2 levels of our Belhaven Dental Care Plan

Level 1 @ £16.00 per month includes 2 Extended Examinations and 2 Extensive Hygiene visits per year

Level 2 @ £24.50 per month includes 2 Extended Examinations and 4 Extensive Hygiene visits per year

All x-rays included in both levels and discounts available on selected treatments.

How can I register with the practice?

To register with the practice, please call 01475741186 and our staff will be happy to help. We’ll be taking several personal details from you, so emailing or contacting us via Facebook isn’t the most efficient option.

How much will my treatment cost?

We’ll always provide you with a printed estimate for your treatment following your check-up appointment and assessment of an appropriate treatment plan. We will discuss available options for you in plain language. For more information, please look at OUR FEES.

Will I need to pay a deposit for certain appointments?

To protect us from any patients failing to attend, we will sometimes take a small deposit which is fully refundable if no appointments are missed or cancelled at short notice.

Why do you charge patients for missed appointments?

Every time a patient misses an appointment, we lose money as it is unlikely we will be able to fill the appointment slot at such short notice. Like all dental practices, we protect ourselves from this by charging an appointment fee for missing or cancelling an appointment with minimal notice. We’ll need the charge to be paid before you can book another appointment.

Which payments types do you accept?

We accept cash, debit and credit cards, including American Express.

What should I do if I’m unhappy with the level of service provided to me?

We do our best to provide you with the best and most professional service we can, but if our service isn’t up to your standards, please take a look at CONTACT US page for more information.

Is finance available?

Yes, we use a company called mypatientfinance who can provide 0% finance up to 12 months and 7.9% APR from 12 months to 36 months to help spread the cost of your treatment.

I am a nervous patient, how can you help?

We pride ourselves on being able to look after some of our more nervous patients and genuinely love to see those who haven’t been for a while and watch them grow in confidence about coming to the dentist. You only need to read some of our patient TESTIMONIALS to judge for yourself. We also offer a sedation service. Please read our section on Nervous Patients / Sedation under OUR SERVICES
